Other Renewables

Outside of PV, there are many other methods that are used to generate electricity that can be categorized here. The term "renewable" refers to the source of energy being reproducible, and is typically associated as being an environmentally friendly source. Sunlight aside, this definition can cover a range of sources including wave energy, biomass, geothermal heat, and wind energy.

It should be noted that hydropower, technically a renewable energy type, is not categorized here as this is a well-established technology that is widely in use and is considered a "traditional" source of electricity within this body of research.
